Witzig Gallery opened this year in association with Galleries Primitif in Woollahra Sydney. Galleries Primitif is owned by Senta Taft-Hendry who has been collecting the arts of primitive man for the last 50 years. Galleries Primitif comprises forms of art which express some of the customs and beliefs of the tribes in various areas and considers it a privilege and honour to be accepted by such proud and ancient peoples. The old and the new PNG art is brought to Sydney with the combination of these two galleries. Situated in the heart of Woollahra, the PNG contemporary artists now have their art exposed in both Sydney and Northern NSW enabling collectors access to these vibrant and unique pieces of work. | |
